ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Arrive at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, where your private chauffeur will escort you to your all-inclusive resort. Settle into your suite with lake views. Enjoy a welcome cocktail and a light lunch featuring Guatemalan flavors like tamales or pepian. Savor a fine-dining experience at the resort with dishes incorporating local ingredients like loroco flowers and black beans.
DAY 2: Take a private boat across the lake to the market. Explore vibrant stalls filled with fresh produce, spices, and traditional textiles. With assistance from your guide, select ingredients for an upcoming cooking class. Head back to the resort for a hands-on culinary session led by a chef, where you'll learn to craft authentic Guatemalan dishes. Savor your creations for lunch, then unwind with a sunset cocktail by the infinity pool and before indulging in a gourmet dinner.
DAY 3: Set out on a guided kayaking trip across Lake Atitlan, gliding along its volcanic shoreline. Pause at a nearby village to explore the rich traditions of Tz'utujil Mayan culture. Take a tour of the local coffee plantation, where you'll discover the coffee-making process and enjoy freshly brewed Guatemalan coffee paired with chocolate. DAY 4: Climb Volcan San Pedro to take in breathtaking panoramic views. Return to the resort to unwind with a revitalizing spa treatment that incorporates local herbs and volcanic stones. End the day with a candlelit dinner featuring a tasting menu expertly paired with Guatemalan wines.
DAY 5: Discover a UNESCO-listed colonial city with a private guide, visiting historic ruins, boutique shops, and the Santa Catalina Arch. Savor a gourmet lunch at a renowned restaurant known for its exquisite blend of Guatemalan and international flavors. Additional Information:
• Travelers must make a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit payment of $400 at the time of registration to secure his/her spot.
• Monthly minimum payments of $400 are required on the first of every month until paid in full to keep your reservations current.
• Final payment must be made 90 days prior to the trip date.
• A 50% refund can be requested prior to 6 months before the trip start date found in your invoice.
• No refunds for cancellations within 6 months of the trip date found in your invoice.
• A $250 penalty will be charged for any outstanding balance after the final payment date found in your invoice.
